A Wisconsin Adventure
Day Eight
It’s mid-morning, a week after our arrival in Wisconsin.
Ally and I are southbound on US Highway 41, after visiting Bob a second time, and staying overnight at Big Cedar Lake.
We are driving to Milwaukee to relinquish our rental car, and check in for our return flight to Virginia.
There has been sunshine every day of our vacation—until today.
For the first time since we arrived, the sky is overcast and gray, and it’s raining.
“Ally,” I ask, “do you know why it’s raining today?”
Ally looks over to me from the passenger seat. She waits for the answer.
“Because Wisconsin is sad that we’re leaving.”
